Ana Ivanovic is one of those players, who started out playing tennis just for the love of it at the tender age of five. It soon became her professional career back in 2005 when she became a full professional. Ana Ivanovic is one of the few players who loves playing on all surfaces, with forehand being her favourite shot. Ana Ivanovic also became the first Serbian to be crowned as the number one player in the world when she claimed her first Grand Slam in 2008.
So far, it has been the only Grand Slam that she has won till date and it is the 2008 French Open. The year 2008 saw the best of Ana Ivanovic as a professional tennis player, with the Serbian managing to beat Dinara Safina in the final on straight sets.
It is really in the year 2007 that success started flowing freely for Ana Ivanovic after she won three tournaments during the calendar year. It was followed up with the success in Roland Garros in 2008 along with two other victories as well. However, since then, she has not been at her best, with a number of off field activities dominating the headlines.
She returned back to her best in 2010 by finally claiming a few titles. In total, she has won 10 WTA titles as a singles player, although success is extremely limited in her career as a doubles player. Ana Ivanovic has also made it into the finals of the 2008 Australian open and also the 2007 Wimbledon, which once again reiterate the fact that these were the best years of the Serbian so far.
