The ATP tournament in Rotterdam was founded at the begining of the Open era (in 1972) and it was part of the Grand Prix tennis circuit, however, it was incorporated into the ATP calendar in 1989. The tournament is now an ATP 500 event, with total prize money of € 1,207,500. It is played at the Ahoy Rotterdam arena on indoor hardcourts. The winner of the last two editions is Robin Soderling.
ATP Rotterdam (ABN AMRO Open) 2012 edition: Roger Federer is the top seed at the 2012 edition, followed by Tomas Berdych and Juan Martin Del Potro. Soderling is still injured and therefore unable to defend his 2011 title.
