The WTA tournament in Brisbane will be played in the same time as the ATP event. Before 2009, the women’s tournament was played in Gold Coast, Queensland. The WTA competition is ranked as a Premier tournament with prize money of $655,000.
Patty Schnyder and Ai Sugiyama are holding the record for most titles won, each winning twice.
